The year old Quinn who is expected to lead the national team into the upcoming world junior hockey championship will be introduced at a press conference on Thursday. The position has been open since Benoit Groulx stepped down two weeks ago to accept a position in the American Hockey League . Quinn most recently coached the Canadian team that won gold at IIHF world under championship in April. Some of the players from that squad will be among those competing for a job on the world junior team. Quinn has been involved with several national teams in the past including the Olympic entry that w! on gold in Salt Lake City . He last coached in the NHL in his seventh and final season with the Toronto Maple Leafs . He s also worked for the Philadelphia Flyers Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks .
